Praying for you at the loss of Karen. What a great testimony you both had. Our son, Eddie passed away in January. God is good, but the loss is real and I bring you and Will to mind when I think of Eddie.

Just found that you are still writing your Lampinen Log, so we were glad to read how you both are as we often pray for you. Interested to see a message from Ralph and Miho Clatworthy as although I (Maggie)have never met Ralph I knew Miho many years ago in Japan as she was a good friend of my Japanese friend Yumi. May you both know God's help in the practical things as well as in your emotional and spiritual needs. Thank you for being so honest.

We knew Denny and Patty Merritt during the late '70s while living in Harrisburg, IL. We know they may be missionaries in the Philippines. We have lost track of them and no longer get a newsletter. Do you have an e-mail address for them?

Dave, We hope you had an encouraging trip to Denver last week. I was glad I could talk with Wil about some health issues; hope he's feeling much better now. I thought of Karen this morning in Community group when we were studying Romans 8, and I imagined her sitting with Jesus and saying "Absolutely!" to Paul's statement in verse 18 "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us". I miss her deeply, but I have confidence that you and Wil will be consistent testimonies of God's grace to all of us who loved her as you work through your own grief. IN Him, Ginny Lundquist

David, thanks for sharing that Puritan prayer. It is beautiful and I will copy it, study it and make it my own. Karen did truly shine for Jesus and bring Him glory with her life and will continue to do so as we remember her great example.

I have found myself thinking of Aunty Karen so much today and realised it would have been her birthday. I hope today is bearable for you and Wil. Lots of love. Sandra

I remember fondly our time together at Orientation in Singapore when we were both still bachelors. You went to the Philippines and married another missionary, I went to Japan and married a lady from the first church I attended. God definitely had plans for us. I regret that I never met Karen, but I always loved following your developments in your regular prayer letters. Your marriage and then the birth of the boys. God still had plans. It is hard to believe that Karen is no longer with us in this life, but we know by faith that we will meet in the greater life. Miho and I will meet her for the first time by the throne of Jesus. May God comfort you in the meantime and may He show His new plan for your own life. Love in Jesus, Ralph, for Miho too
